ESPN's FPI predicts every remaining game on Notre Dame's 2023 schedule
ESPN’s Football Power Index has updated its projections for the rest of the season for Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish are idle this week after beginning the season with a 6-2 record. Notre Dame is coming off of a 48-20 victory over rival USC back in Week 7. That win should give the Irish plenty of momentum as it enters the home stretch of the 2023 season.
Notre Dame is presumably out of the College Football Playoff conversation for this season, but there’s still plenty for the Fighting Irish to play for.
Here’s FPI‘s win probability for each of Notre Dame’s remaining contests (along with what the probability was in the preseason):
- Oct. 28 vs. Pitt — 90% (preseason: 82.3%)
- Nov. 4 at Clemson — 53.1% (preseason: 38.6%)
- Nov. 18 vs. Wake Forest — 93.8% (preseason: 86.2%)
- Nov. 25 at Stanford — 93.8% (preseason: 85.7%)
Notre Dame is favored in all four of its remaining games. Three of those contests — with Clemson as the exception — are expected to be blowouts. If Notre Dame does run the table from here, it will secure its first 10-win season of the Marcus Freeman era.
Notre Dame upset Clemson at home last season. The Fighting Irish have never beaten the Tigers in back-to-back meetings before.
Notre Dame will face Pitt in Week 9.
