Notre Dame and North Carolina will battle in one of the most-anticipated games of Week 4 on Saturday afternoon.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, it should be a close game in Chapel Hill. FPI is projecting Notre Dame has a 53.5% chance to win the game on the road.

Notre Dame is an underdog in this matchup according to Vegas. The Fighting Irish have struggled offensively to start the season, but appeared to make some progress vs. Cal in Week 3.

North Carolina was off in Week 3 but enters this game with an undefeated record and one of the best offenses in the country. Quarterback Drake Maye is playing like an All-ACC candidate to start his redshirt freshman season.

UNC could also get back star receiver Josh Downs for this contest. Downs hasn’t played for the Tar Heels since Week 0 due to a leg inury.

While Notre Dame’s offense has struggled, its defense has been borderline elite through 3 weeks. Notre Dame’s ability to pressure Maye — or not — could decide the outcome of this game.

Notre Dame is 20-1 all-time against UNC.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday.
