ESPN's FPI projects every remaining game on Notre Dame's schedule
Notre Dame is off to a 6-1 start this season.
The Fighting Irish’s only blemish came in a loss to Cincinnati, who is currently fighting for a College Football Playoff berth. If Notre Dame can win out, it will likely also receive consideration from the selection committee.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI), Notre Dame is favored to win four of its remaining five games. The only exception — at Virginia on Nov. 13 — is a virtual tossup.
Notre Dame has already secured multiple ACC wins this year, including Florida State and Virginia Tech. The clash with Virginia in mid-November could have New Year’s 6 bowl implications for both the Cavaliers and the Fighting Irish.
Here’s how FPI is projecting the remainder of Notre Dame’s season:
- Vs. North Carolina: 66.3 percent
- Vs. Navy: 97.1 percent
- At Virginia: 48.8 percent
- Vs. Georgia Tech: 80.7 percent
- At Stanford: 68.2 percent
In addition to wins over the Seminoles and Hokies, Notre Dame has already secured Power 5 victories vs. Wisconsin, Purdue and USC.
Notre Dame hosts North Carolina at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
