Notre Dame is firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble as January draws to a close.

The Fighting Irish have won 9 of their last 10 games, but are still fighting for an at-large berth in the Big Dance. According to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, there’s still plenty of work left to do.

Notre Dame is in Lunardi’s “Next Four Out” section of his latest bracketology update. The Fighting Irish are joined by Texas A&M, SMU and Belmont.

Here’s a look at his update from Thursday:

That means Notre Dame would need to climb at least 6 teams in order to make it to the Field of 68 — at least in Lunardi’s estimation.

The good news is, Notre Dame still has several opportunities remaining to notch key victories. It still has games remaining vs. Duke, Miami, Wake Forest and Florida State — all of whom are also still in contention for an at-large berth.

As of now, Notre Dame has a 6-3 record in ACC play and currently sit a half game back of Miami for the conference lead.

Next up for the Irish is Virginia in South Bend on Saturday.
