Notre Dame is set to face South Carolina in the Gator Bowl on Friday afternoon.

The Fighting Irish are slight favorites in Vegas in this game despite missing multiple key starters on both sides of the ball. However, ESPN’s SP+ is picking the Gamecocks.

ESPN’s SP+ is predicting Notre Dame will lose by the score of 30-27:

While Notre Dame will be missing at least four key starters from the regular season (Drew Pyne, Michael Mayer, Isaiah Foskey and Jayson Ademilola), South Carolina has issues of its own.

The Gamecocks have lost nearly two dozen players to injury, transfer or opt-out for this game. The list includes tight end Jaheim Bell, tight end Austin Stogner, right tackle Dylan Wonnum, cornerback Cam Smith, cornerback Darius Rush and safety Devonni Reed, amongst others.

South Carolina does seemingly have an edge at quarterback. Spencer Rattler is expected to play in this game — potentially his last one before moving on to the NFL. Tyler Buchner will be making his first start for Notre Dame since Week 2.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET.
