Notre Dame fans are not happy with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

The Fighting Irish fell 16-14 to Stanford on Saturday night in South Bend. Notre Dame’s offense was shutout in the first half and failed to move the ball more than 30 yards on any drive before the break.

Notre Dame did score twice in the second half, but its final 2 drives ended with a fumble and a turnover on downs.

As a team, Notre Dame averaged only 5.1 yards per play. It converted just 3-of-12 third downs. Quarterback Drew Pyne completed only 13-of-27 passes for 151 yards.

And to make matters worse, that lack of production came against a Stanford defense that was amongst the Pac-12’s worst in the first half of the season. The Cardinal ranked 10th in the conference in yards per play allowed.

After the game, Notre Dame fans went to Twitter to call for the dismissal of Rees as Notre Dame’s OC.
