Flip incoming? Notre Dame offers speedy RB who is currently committed to Big 12 school

Notre Dame is apparently looking to add some speed to its 2023 recruiting class.

The Fighting Irish offered 4-star running back Dylan Edwards on Wednesday night. Edwards, who is one of the fastest players in the country, is currently committed to Kansas State.

Edwards is a Kansas native. He committed to the Wildcats back in June and chose Kansas State over nearby programs like Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Edwards is a 4-star prospect and the No. 19 running back in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from the state of Kansas.

The Fighting Irish are looking to add another running back in this class after the decommitment of Sedrick Irvin Jr. 4-star Jayden Limar is Notre Dame’s only running back currently in the 2023 class.

As for Edwards, he’s got plenty of speed. He won the Fastest Man challenge at Rivals’ Future 50 event earlier this month:

Notre Dame currently has 20 commitments and the No. 2 overall recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here are some highlights from Edwards’ junior season:
