Former Notre Dame defensive lineman Jacob Lacey is headed to the Big 12.

Lacey announced on Thursday afternoon that he has committed to Oklahoma. Here’s that announcement:

Lacey becomes one of the first players nationally to commit to a new school this cycle. He stepped away from the Notre Dame program back in early October so he could maintain this season of eligibility.

Lacey was a backup for Notre Dame this season and finished the year with five total tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks.

Because this season counts as a redshirt year, Lacey will have two years of eligibility remaining at Oklahoma. He finished his Notre Dame career with 6.5 tackles for loss.

Lacey was a member of Notre Dame’s 2019 recruiting class. He was a 4-star prospect in that cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky.
