Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton is off the board.

He was selected No. 14 overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

Hamilton’s draft stock fell in recent weeks due a slower-than-expected 40-yard dash time. He also missed a significant chunk of last season with a knee injury.

This is a great landing spot for Hamilton — the Ravens have a long history of drafting and developing standout defensive players. Baltimore will be amongst the favorites to win its division this season.

Hamilton finished his Notre Dame career with 8 interceptions, 16 pass deflections and 7.5 tackles for loss. He was consistently one of the best safeties in the country over his 3 years in South Bend.

The Ravens’ Twitter account welcomed Hamilton to the team shortly after the pick was announced:

Baltimore is on the clock again at No. 23 overall after trading Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.
