Gino Guidugli explains what's 'special' about OL Charles Jagusah ahead of 1st career start
Gino Guidugli met with reporters on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Notre Dame’s matchup with Oregon State in the Sun Bowl.
Guidugli is set to be Notre Dame’s primary play-caller in this game after Gerad Parker left for the Troy head coaching job earlier this month. Notre Dame will also be dealing with new starters at multiple positions on offense, including at left tackle.
True freshman Charles Jagusah is set to step in for Joe Alt, who decided to opt-out as he prepares to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. Guidugli explained what makes Jagusah a special player ahead of his first career start.
“Jags is just a huge human being and moves really well for his size,” Guidugli said. “And on top of that, the guy is a true freshman. You teach him, he reps it, he knows it and he can go execute it. His ability to just take information and be able to apply it to the field and make adjustments on the fly, is what’s going to make him special.’

Jagusah was a 4-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. However, he did not play for the Fighting Irish during the regular season.
Kickoff against Oregon State is set for 2 p.m. ET on Friday.
