Is Notre Dame closing in on another run of 2023 commitments?
Notre Dame already has one of the top recruiting classes in the country, but it could be about to get better.
The Fighting Irish are currently projected to land four different 4-star prospects this week. The list includes a pair of cornerbacks, an offensive lineman and wide receiver.
If all 4 players do commit to Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish would comfortably re-take the lead for top recruiting class in the country. They currently rank No. 3 behind Ohio State and Texas, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Here’s a breakdown of who Notre Dame is projected to land this week, per various 247Sports Crystal Ball projections. Their decision dates have also been included:
4-star OL Charles Jagusah
Jagusah is the No. 55 overall player and the No. 5 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
He’s from Rock Island, Illinois and would be the Fighting Irish’s first commitment in this class from that state. He’s already listed at 6-foot-6, 308 pounds as he prepares for his senior year of high school.
Jagusah would be the 5th offensive lineman in Notre Dame’s 2023 class and the 4th that’s rated as a 4-star prospect.
The Illinois native also has offers from Michigan, Auburn, Arkansas and LSU, amongst others.
Decision date: June 30
4-star CB Micah Bell
Bell is the No. 13 cornerback in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the 20 overall player from the state of Texas.
Notre Dame has had success in the Lone Star state this cycle. Bell would be Notre Dame’s third commitment from Texas if he chooses the Fighting Irish later this week.
Bell has received offers from programs like Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee and Texas, amongst others. He took an official visit to South Bend on June 17.
Decision date: July 1
4-star WR Rico Flores
Flores is the No. 27 wide receiver in the nation for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the No. 187 overall player and the No. 12 prospect from California.
If Notre Dame can land Flores, he would bolster the Irish’s receiver class in this cycle. Notre Dame already has 2 receivers in 2023 — 4-star Braylon James and 4-star Cooper Flanagan.
Flores would join Flanagan as the only Californians in this class so far.
Decision date: July 3
4-star CB Christian Gray
Another cornerback who could pick the Fighting Irish this week, Gray is a priority target. He’s the No. 10 cornerback prospect in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Gray joins Jagusah as potential top-100 prospects who could choose Notre Dame this week. The Fighting Irish currently have 4 commitments from top-100 players, per the composite.
Gray recently took visits to Ohio State and USC, so earning his commitment would be a huge win for the Irish. He also visited South Bend earlier this month.
Decision date: July 4
