Joe Alt has played his final game in a Notre Dame uniform.

Alt officially announced his plans to enter the 2024 NFL Draft on Wednesday morning. That decision has been expected from Notre Dame’s star left tackle, as he’s widely-regarded as one of the top offensive line prospects in this draft class.

Alt also said he will opt out of playing in the Sun Bowl and instead will focus on preparing for the NFL Draft.

“In my heart I know it is time for me to take the next step on this journey,” Alt said. “I would like to officially announce that I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft and be opting out of the bowl game.

“I am excited to get down to El Paso to watch the Sun Bowl and support my Notre Dame family! Looking forward to seeing all of Irish Nation there!”

Alt appeared at No. 9 overall in ESPN’s latest mock draft, which was released this week. Notre Dame has not had a player selected in the top 10 of the NFL Draft since 2018.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held from April 25-27.
