Joe Alt has lofty goal for Notre Dame OL in 2023: ‘We’re coming for that Joe Moore Award’

Joe Alt thinks Notre Dame could be in the running for the best offensive line in the country.

According to Alt, his one goal for the upcoming season is for Notre Dame to win the Joe Moore award. The Joe Moore award “recognizes the toughest, most physical offensive line in the country”, and is awarded annually to the most outstanding offensive line unit in CFB.

Speaking to Pro Football Focus this week, Alt stated “next year, we’re going to prove that we’re the best offensive line in college football. We’re coming for that Joe Moore award.”

The Fighting Irish lineman knows a thing or t

wo about offensive success. Alt allowed 0 sacks and just 8 pressures in 13 starts last season, which earned him the highest Pro Football Focus overall grade of any tackle in 2022.

Notre Dame last won the Joe Moore Award in 2017.

Alt and the rest of the Notre Dame line will have the opportunity to prove their intentions as they take on Navy to open the season on Aug. 26.
