Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees entered Week 4 with a lot of expectations, and he delivered.

The Fighting Irish’s offense gained over 500 yards and put up a season-high 45 points on North Carolina on the road. It was a big-time showing for an offense that had struggled through its first 3 games of the season.

Kirk Herbstreit took notice, naming Rees as one of his top-performing coaches for Week 4. Rees was the only coordinator to make the cut this week.

He’s joined by 6 head coaches across the country and is ranked No. 2 overall. He finished behind only Kansas State’s Chris Kleiman, who delivered a road win at Oklahoma in Week 4.

Here’s the list:

Notre Dame’s offense still has more to prove, as North Carolina’s defense has been amongst the worst in the country so far this season. But it was still an important step as Notre Dame looks to get back on track in 2022.

Notre Dame is off in Week 5 but will face BYU in a neutral site game in Week 6.
