March Madness: Analyzing Notre Dame's NCAA Tournament draw
Notre Dame is a No. 11-seed in the NCAA Tournament, the selection committee announced on Sunday evening.
However, because the Fighting Irish were one of the last four at-large teams to make the tournament, they will head to Dayton to face Rutgers in a play-in game.

If Notre Dame wins that game, it will head to the Field of 64 as the No. 11-seed in the West Region. That game vs. the Scarlet Knights will take place on Wednesday night.
KenPom is projecting Rutgers to edge out the Fighting Irish, 67-65.
A win in Dayton means the Fighting Irish would take on Alabama in the field of 64. The Crimson Tide went 19-13 this season and will likely be a heavy favorite to move on. That game would take place on Friday.
Should the Fighting Irish win both of those games, they would likely face No. 3-seed Texas Tech in the Round of 32. No. 1-seeded Gonzaga, No. 2-seeded Duke and No. 4-seeded Arkansas are the other top teams in this region.
Notre Dame is looking for its first NCAA Tournament win since 2016-17.
