Marcus Freeman addresses team after win over Oregon State, 10-win season

Marcus Freeman addressed his team after a blowout win in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

The Fighting Irish won 40-8 over the Oregon State Beavers and dominated on both sides of the ball. The Irish outgained the Beavers by over 250 yards and allowed the Beavers to convert on just 1-of-9 third downs. Quarterback Steve Angeli threw for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first start.

“We’re so grateful man, with the opportunity to coach you guys, to just be around you every day,” Freeman declared. “It’s an absolute privilege.”

Freeman praised his players for buying into the program and the culture. The coach also teased that bigger things are to come if the Irish can build off of t

his positive momentum.

“We’re going to use this to continue to get better. To continue to always choose Notre Dame and each other first,” Freeman said. “But we’re just getting started, we’re gonna build off this thing.”

Freeman now has a 19-8 record as the head man in South Bend after taking over at the end of the 2021 season. The Irish have now won 2 bowl games in a row and will look to build on this for the 2024 season.
