Notre Dame’s future at quarterback is very uncertain beyond this season. With Sam Hartman set to be out of eligibility, the Fighting Irish have limited experience at QB currently on their roster.
Steve Angeli is in his second season with the program. He has completed 16-of-21 passes this season while serving as Hartman’s primary backup. There’s also Kenny Minchey, who is 2-for-2 this season in very limited opportunities. He’s set to redshirt during the 2023 season.
Notre Dame also has an elite quarterback prospect committed in the class of 2024 in 4-star CJ Carr. He’s currently the No. 5 quarterback in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
