Notre Dame QB Tyler Buchner struggled on Saturday against Marshall and eventually left the game with a shoulder injury.

Buchner exited the game on Notre Dame’s penultimate drive of the game. Drew Pyne replaced him and threw an interception a few plays later. Pyne did throw a touchdown pass on Notre Dame’s final drive, but it wasn’t enough.

At his after game press conference, head coach Marcus Freeman said the Buchner’s injury specifics are unknown.

Buchner was never able to get much rhythm going on offense through the air, and threw an interception in the first half. At halftime, Buchner had 15 attempts for 89 yards.

Buchner carried the ball 7 times for 22 yards before halftime, and was able to score a rushing touchdown, the lone touchdown of the half.

Buchner completed 18 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two interceptions, rushed for 44 yards, and two touchdowns on the ground before the injury occurred.
