Marcus Freeman gave an injury update on defensive lineman Jayson Ademilola on Monday afternoon.

Ademilola left the Stanford game early with an injury. According to Freeman, he’s dealing with a rib contusion.

However, Notre Dame received good news on his test results. Ademilola did not suffer any structural damage or broken bones.

“It’s going to take a day or two days to get it to where he’s breathing better,” Freeman said, via On3. “But no structural, no bone damage. Just a pretty good contusion that happened early in the game.”

Ademilola is a critical part of Notre Dame’s defensive line. He has 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks so far this season.

With Ademilola unable to play on Saturday, his snaps largely went to Gabriel Rubio. Rubio finished the game with 7 total tackles.

Notre Dame’s other starting defensive tackle, Howard Cross III, was also in and out of the Stanford game due to an injury. He missed the BYU game with a high-ankle sprain.

Ademilola’s status is still questionable for this weekend. Notre Dame hosts UNLV at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
