Marcus Freeman shared some positive injury news during his weekly press conference on Monday.

Freeman said that he expects both Jayden Thomas and Jaden Greathouse to be available vs. Louisville on Saturday. Thomas and Greathouse missed the Duke game due to hamstring injuries.

Freeman also said he expects both players to practice on Tuesday.

Thomas and Greathouse are Notre Dame’s leading wide receivers so far this season.

Thomas has 13 catches for 195 yards and 1 touchdown so far this season. Greathouse, a true freshman, has 12 receptions for 166 yards and 3 scores to this point in the year.

Their absence was noticeable in Notre Dame’s 21-14 victory over Duke. No Notre Dame wide receiver accounted for more than 2 catches or 28 yards on the night. Tight end Mitchell Evans led the team with 6 catches for 134 yards. Running back Audric Estime also had 4 receptions.

However, the trio of Tobias Merriweather, Chris Tyree and Rico Flores Jr. combined for just 4 catches for 56 yards on 14 targets.

Notre Dame will look to get its passing game back on track this week against Louisville.
