Micah Shrewsberry hiring first 3 pieces of Notre Dame coaching staff, per report

Micah Shrewsberry is stepping in to lead Notre Dame basketball and is looking to turn around the Irish program after a swift resurgence at Penn State. As of Friday, Shrewsberry is also in the process of compiling his coaching staff at Notre Dame.

According to Jeff Goodman with Stadium, Shrewsberry is bringing one coach with him from Penn State and is adding another ACC assistant in a key role. Goodman reports Virginia assistant Kyle Getter is being added as Shrewsberry’s associate head coach while Mike Farrelly is following Shrewsberry from Penn State in an assistant role.

Goodman also reports Brian Snow, Penn State’s director of recruiting under Shrewsberry, will also join the Notre Dame program.

We’ll see how those hirings pan out for Shrewsberry and the Irish, but they appear to be solid additions for a program that has just one NCAA Tournament appearance in the past 6 seasons.
