Micah Shrewsberry will have a familiar face with him at Notre Dame basketball in 2023. One of Shrewsberry’s sons committed to the Fighting Irish on March 30th.

Micah has a son named Braeden who is from the 2023 class and ranked as a 3-star shooting guard per the 247Sports Composite. Braeden committed to Penn State while his father was still coaching there.

Micah has since changed jobs and Braeden will be heading to South Bend as well.

Braeden is the No. 31 SG and No. 6 prospect from his home state of Pennsylvania. Braeden received offers from Penn State, George Washington, Saint Joseph’s and Xavier as well.

Micah coached at Penn State from 2021-2023. Micah led the Nittany Lions to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Penn State went on to lose to Texas and he accepted the job opening at Notre Dame on March 23rd.

Former Notre Dame coach Mike Brey announced that this past season would be his last after finishing with an 11-21 record.

Brey will reportedly be joining Quin Snyder’s coaching staff on the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks for the 2023-24 season.

Micah’s Penn State squad finished with a 23-14 record and defied expectations. If he can replicate that mentality at Notre Dame, fans should be in for a treat.
