Notre Dame could be on the verge of losing a commitment from 5-star safety Peyton Bowen.
Bowen’s recruitment is heating up this week as he has in-home visits scheduled with multiple top coaches. However, his recruitment appears to be trending toward Oklahoma.
Two leading experts from On3, Sam Spiegelman and Gerry Hamilton, both filed predictions for the Sooners to land Bowen on Thursday morning.
Oklahoma has been recruiting Bowen — a Texas native — for months. Notre Dame seemed to pick up some momentum again when Bowen was on campus for the Irish’s win over Clemson, but that h
as since stalled.
If Bowen does flip to Oklahoma, it would be a huge loss for Notre Dame. He has been committed to the Irish since January and is the top-ranked recruit in their class.
Bowen ranks as the No. 14 overall player and the No. 2 safety in the country for the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
