Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees had a frustrating first half against Cal on Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Irish gained just 118 yards and scored only 7 points in the first half against the Golden Bears. They also committed 4 false start penalties — all on 3rd down.

During the middle of that frustration, NBC showed a clip of offensive coordinator Tommy Rees appearing to lay into quarterback Drew Pyne on the sideline phone.

“Do your F——ing job,” Rees appeared to say on video.

Here’s the clip:

In the first half, Pyne completed 7-of-12 passes for 57 yards. Notre Dame went just 1-for-7 on third down.

Notre Dame is looking to avoid an 0-3 start to the regular season. Notre Dame trailed 10-7 at the half and went to the locker room after hearing a chorus of boos from its home crowd.

The Fighting Irish are 4-0 all-time against Cal. These teams have not met since 1967.
