Notre Dame QB commit CJ Carr reportedly makes decision on reclassification
Notre Dame quarterback commit CJ Carr will remain in the class of 2024 and not reclassify to 2023, according to multiple reports.
247Sports’ Tom Loy and The Athletic’s Pete Sampson both reported that news on Sunday afternoon.
According to a source, four-star quarterback and Notre Dame commitment CJ Carr will remain in the 2024 class and will not reclassify to the 2023 cycle. Carr was at last night's victory over Clemson.

There had been speculation that Carr, one of the best high school passers in the country, could choose to enroll at Notre Dame a year early. The Irish don’t currently have a quarterback committed in the class of 2023.
Instead, Carr will stay in the class of 2024 where he is recognized as one of the nation’s top quarterbacks. He’s the No. 31 overall player and the No. 5 QB for that cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Notre Dame could decide to make a late push for a quarterback committed elsewhere in the class of 2023. The Irish could also decide to skip the 2023 cycle and instead bring a quarterback in through the transfer portal.
Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class currently ranks No. 3 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
