Notre Dame has landed a commitment from Waukesha (Wisc.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig.
The 6-foot-8 lineman is the Class of 2025’s top-ranked player from the state of Wisconsin. He announced his decision on Thursday, selecting the Fighting Irish from a group of finalists that also included the home-state Badgers, USC, Miami, and Florida State.
“I cannot wait to be a part of the tradition of Notre Dame football,” Strebig said in a post on social media.
Strebig has been a left tackle for Catholic Memorial in each of his last two seasons of high school ball. He helped the team to a 13-1 record and a Wisconsin Division 4 state runner-up finish as a sophomore in 2022. Last fall, he was part of a 9-3 team that made a Wisconsin Division 4 state semifinal appearance. He also has a baseball background.
In the industry-generated 247 Composite, Strebig is a 4-star recruit and the No. 127 overall prospect in the class. He’s also the 13th-ranked tackle in his class.
Strebig becomes the ninth blue-chip prospect to publicly commit to Notre Dame for the 2025 class. No team in the country has more. Marcus Freeman is putting together a special class, and the group currently ranks first in the Composite.
