Notre Dame adds commitment from elite long snapper

Notre Dame has picked up a commitment from an elite long snapper.

Andrew Kros joined the Fighting Irish’s 2023 class on Monday evening.

Here’s his announcement:

“Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to coach Marcus Freeman, coach Brian Mason and coach Jesse Schmitt for allowing me the opportunity of a lifetime to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Notre Dame,” Kros wrote in-part.

Due to his position, Kros does not have a profile page on any of the major recruiting services. However, he’s the No. 15 long snapper in the country for this class, according to Kohl’s kicking rankings

.

Kros is expected to be a preferred walk-on at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish currently have 3 long snappers on their 2022 roster: Michael Vinson, Alex Peitsch and Rino Monteforte. Vinson is expected to be the team’s primary long snapper this season.

Notre Dame opens the 2022 campaign against Ohio State on Sept. 3.
