The game continues a semi-regular tradition of playing the Midshipmen in Ireland. The teams also met there in 1996 and 2012. The Fighting Irish won both of the previous two meetings.
These teams were originally scheduled to meet in Dublin in 2020, but the game was canceled due to the pandemic.
Notre Dame is 77-13-1 all-time against Navy. The Midshipmen last won in 2016, defeating Notre Dame 28-27 in Jacksonville.
Notre Dame and Navy will also meet this weekend in South Bend as the Fighting Irish look to improve to 8-1 on the season. Brian Kelly’s squad currently sits at No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
