Notre Dame will be sporting the green of the Irish as they take on Ohio State on Sept. 23rd. The school released a hype video announcing the uniform combination on Friday, which is also St. Patrick’s Day. Players will wear a traditional green jersey and gold pants.

The school announced on social media on Friday and shared a video playing traditional Irish music, showing the hoisting of a green Notre Dame pennant. Next to it, a red Ohio State pennant is then hoisted up the flag pole. Along with the tweet was a caption that read “Irish Wear Green. Today and on September 23rd.”

Notre Dame will need the luck of the Irish to get them through next season as the Fighting Irish play at least 3 games against College Football Playoff hopefuls: Ohio State, USC and Clemson. Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman lost to both Ohio State and USC in his first season at the helm.

We’ll see if the green jerseys will bring the Fighting Irish a win.
