Notre Dame added to its 2025 recruiting class in a big way on Saturday.

The Fighting Irish picked up a commitment from 4-star tight end James Flanigan. He picked Notre Dame over programs such as Michigan, Penn State, Stanford and several more.

Flanigan was a priority target for the Fighting Irish in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 145 overall player and the No. 3 tight end in the country for his class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from the state of Wisconsin.

In addition to Notre Dame, Flanigan was being recruited by some of the top teams across the country. His offer list includes Michigan, Penn State, Stanford, Wisconsin, Missouri and Louisville, amongst others.

Notre Dame is in the midst of building an elite recruiting class in 2025. The Irish are now up to 7 commitments in this class, which ranks in the top 3 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
