Notre Dame beats out Michigan, Texas A&M for 4-star linebacker

Notre Dame added to its 2023 recruiting class in a major way on Thursday night.

The Fighting Irish picked up a commitment from 4-star linebacker Jaiden Ausberry.

Here’s his announcement:

Ausberry picked the Irish over a group of finalists that also included Michigan, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida, Alabama and Auburn.

He’s the No. 105 overall player and the No. 8 linebacker in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings

. He’s also the No. 7 player from the state of Louisiana.

This is the start of a potentially huge recruiting weekend for the Irish. They’re also hoping to get good news from 3-star safety Ben Minich and 4-star running back Dylan Edwards later this weekend.

Notre Dame is up to 21 commitments in the class of 2023. And thanks to the addition of Ausberry, Notre Dame has jumped Alabama for the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Composite rankings

.

Here are highlights from a couple games of Ausberry’s junior season:
