Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison picked off three passes in the Irish’s game against Boston College on Saturday afternoon.

This three-interception performance follows his two picks against Clemson earlier this month. He now has five on the year, becoming the first Notre Dame player to have that many interceptions in a season since Manti Te’o (7) in 2012.

Perhaps even more impressive is that Morrison is a true freshman. He was a relatively unheralded member of Notre Dame’s 2022 recruiting class, but he has made a tremendous impact from day one.

He’s the first Notre Dame freshman with three interceptions in a game this century.

He becomes the first Notre Dame player — regardless of classification — to record three picks in a single game since Harrison Smith in 2010.

Morrison also becomes the 15th different Notre Dame player to intercept three passes in a game. No Fighting Irish player has ever picked off four passes in one contest.

Here’s a clip of his third interception — with now falling at Notre Dame Stadium:

Notre Dame will close out its regular season against USC on the road in Week 13.
