Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman gives passionate locker room speech after Navy win

Notre Dame edged out Navy in a 35-32 victory in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon.

The Irish didn’t score in the second half, but had built up enough of a first-half lead to overcome Navy’s comeback attempt.

After the game, coach Marcus Freeman spoke to his players about the ability to win close games.

“The beautiful part of this is we’ve grown to be a team that can win in those close games,” Freeman said. “A couple weeks ago, we weren’t able to find a way to win.

“The ability to find a way to win shows you where we’ve come. The beautiful part of that is there’s a lot of learning to do.”

Here’s video of his remarks:

Notre Dame has won seven of its last eight games following an 0-2 start. The Irish have also won four games in a row and are playing their best football late in the season.

If Notre Dame wins out, it will have a chance at another 10+ win season. The Irish have double-digit wins in each of their last five seasons.

Notre Dame hosts Boston College in its final home game of the year on Saturday.
