Notre Dame suffered a devastating 26-21 loss to Marshall on Saturday afternoon.

While the loss is amongst the worst in recent memory for the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame’s top recruiting class appears to be unaffected

That’s true for at least one commit — 4-star defensive back Christian Gray. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Irish on Saturday evening.

Gray has been committed to Notre Dame since July. He’s one of the top defensive players in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class.

Gray is ranked No. 84 overall and is the No. 8 cornerback in the country for his cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of Missouri.

The St. Louis native chose Notre Dame over programs like Ohio State, USC and Oregon.

Notre Dame is looking for stabilization after starting the year with an 0-2 record. The Irish have struggled mightily offensively and have given up 95-yard drives in the 4th quarter in back-to-back games to start the season.

On the recruiting trail, things are still going relatively well for the Irish. Notre Dame currently has the No. 4 class in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
