Notre Dame defeated Louisville 82-70 on Saturday afternoon despite trailing by as many as nine points.

The Fighting Irish shot 61.5 percent from field and hit eight 3-pointers in the second half to complete the comeback. Notre Dame has now won eight of its last nine games.

Blake Wesley, who is beginning to climb up NBA draft boards, led the way with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Dane Goodwin and Paul Atkinson Jr. also scored in double figures, finishing with 13 points.

Notre Dame is now 5-2 in ACC play and is tied for third place with Duke in the conference standings. Florida State (6-2) and Miami (6-2) are tied for first place.

The Irish are still fighting for a spot in the NCAA Tournament field. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi had Notre Dame on the outside-looking-in prior to this weekend’s games:

However, there still seems to be a path to making it into the field. Virginia Tech entered the weekend on Lunardi’s bubble despite a 2-4 start to ACC play.

Notre Dame will have a chance to continue building its résumé on Wednesday as it hosts NC State.
