Notre Dame cornerback Jayden Bellamy has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

The freshman cornerback left the school after his 1st and only season. He will be looking for a new college football program to play for. The news was first reported by 247Sports’ Tom Loy:

Bellamy did not appear in a game for Notre Dame this season. His lack of playing time could have weighed into his decision to leave the team.

Bellamy, who is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback, was key defensive member of Notre Dame’s 2022 recruiting class. Bellamy enrolled early at Notre Dame and joined the team in the spring semester of 2022. He committed to Notre Dame in July 2021.

In the class of 2022, Bellamy was a 3-star recruit, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Bellamy was the No. 37 ranked cornerback in the nation and the No. 6 recruit in New Jersey.

When he committed to Notre Dame, Bellamy chose the Fighting Irish over LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Penn State.

Notre Dame is set to play South Carolina in the Gator Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30.
