Notre Dame came in at No. 10 on the College Football Playoff selection committee’s initial rankings.

The Fighting Irish are 7-1 on the season and their only loss on the year came back on Oct. 2 vs. Cincinnati. The Bearcats are ranked at No. 6 in he initial CFP rankings.

Notre Dame is getting a boost to its strength of schedule with a favorable ranking for Wisconsin (5-3) at No. 21. Notre Dame beat the Badgers 41-13 in Chicago earlier this season.

The Fighting Irish are currently without star safety Kyle Hamilton, who suffered a knee injury earlier this year against USC. However, coach Brian Kelly has expressed optimism that he will play again for Notre Dame at some point this season.

Kelly said his return could come as early as the Virginia game on Nov. 13.

The Fighting Irish close their 2021 campaign with games against Navy, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Stanford.

Notre Dame hosts Navy on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
