Notre Dame DL Isaiah Foskey announces plans for 2023 season

Notre Dame defensive lineman Isaiah Foskey is headed to the NFL.

Foskey announced that decision on Thursday afternoon. He will forego the remainder of his college eligibility and will enter the 2023 NFL Draft.

Here’s his announcement:

“I will always love and respect Notre Dame for helping me grow over the last 3.5 years of my life,” Foskey wrote in-part. “I have matured as a football player and as a man here in South Bend.”

Foskey leaves Notre Dame as the program’s all-time leader in sacks. He surpassed Justin Tuck’s mark during the 2022 season and ended the campaign with 25 t

otal sacks. He also racked up 28 tackles for loss and 7 forced fumbles during his Notre Dame career.

Foskey saved his best season for last in South Bend. In 2022, he totaled 13.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks — both career-highs. He’s expected to receive consideration as a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Notre Dame will face South Carolina in the Gator Bowl later this month.
