Notre Dame landed a commitment from one of the top interior offensive linemen in the country on Monday night.

4-star lineman Sam Pendleton chose the Fighting Irish over offers from programs like Clemson, Florida and Michigan, amongst others.

Here’s his announcement:

Pendleton is the No. 19 interior offensive lineman in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also rated as the No. 12 player from the state of North Carolina.

He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 305 pounds. He attends Reagan High School in Pfafftown, North Carolina. He’s the first commitment for newly-hired offensive line coach Harry Hiestand. Hiestand is back in South Bend after spending 2 seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Pendleton becomes the 10th player to join Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class. The group currently ranks No. 1 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The class is led by 5-star EDGE Keon Keeley.

Players in the class of 2023 will be able to officially sign with a program during the Early Signing Period in December.
