Notre Dame falls several spots in latest College Football Playoff rankings

Notre Dame fell several spots in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, which were revealed on Tuesday night.

The Fighting Irish are now No. 21 in the country after their loss to USC in Week 13. Last week, they came in at No. 15 in the committee rankings. The Irish played well offensively against USC, but couldn’t get enough stops against the Trojans to pull out the win.

Notre Dame ended the regular season with with an 8-4 record. It won eight of its last 10 games after starting the season with losses to Ohio State and Marshall.

Notre Dame will have the opportunity to win a ninth game during its bowl game next month. Current projections

have Notre Dame appearing in the Gator Bowl.

This would be Notre Dame’s fourth all-time appearance in the Gator Bowl and its first since 2002. It’s 1-2 all-time in the Gator Bowl, with its lone win coming back in 1976.

Notre Dame will learn its official bowl destination on Sunday.
