Notre Dame lost to Oklahoma in the College World Series on Sunday night, 6-2.
The Fighting Irish will now go to the loser’s bracket where they will face Texas A&M on Tuesday. The winner of that game will then face the Sooners in the semifinals.
That means Notre Dame will have to win 3 straight games — 1 vs. Texas A&M and 2 vs. Oklahoma — to make it to the College World Series championship.
On Sunday night vs. the Sooners, Notre Dame got both of its runs off a David LaManna home run in the 6th inning. However, Oklahoma was already up 5-0 at that point and was able to close things out in the later innings.
Notre Dame starter Austin Temple made it through just 1.1 innings before being pulled. He gave up just 1 hit and 0 runs in that span, but he walked 3 of the 8 batters he faced.
After the game, Notre Dame coach Link Jarrett gave credit to the Sooners.
