Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner struggled in the first half against Marshall on Saturday afternoon.

Buchner wasn’t able to get much going through the air and threw a bad interception in the first half. At the break, he has 89 passing yards on 15 attempts.

Buchner did score Notre Dame’s lone touchdown of the first half on the ground. He carried the ball 7 times for 22 yards before halftime.

But overall, it was a struggle for Notre Dame’s offense vs. the Thundering Herd. Notre Dame averaged just 4.6 yards per play — far below what fans were hoping for against Marshall’s defense.

There was also plenty of criticism for Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Notre Dame was shutout in the second half of its Week 1 loss to Ohio State last weekend.
