Notre Dame is hosting a top transfer portal wide receiver this weekend.

Kris Mitchell, who is in the portal following a standout season at Florida International, let fans know that he is in South Bend on a visit on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s his announcement:

Mitchell is coming off of the best season of his collegiate career. This year at FIU, he caught 64 passes for 1,118 yards and 6 touchdowns. He averaged 17.5 yards per reception, making him an elite deep threat.

Notre Dame is expected to be very active in the transfer portal this offseason, particularly at the receiver position. The Fighting Irish have already had 4 receivers enter the portal so far this offseason, including leading receivers Chris Tyree and Rico Flores Jr.

Notre Dame also parted ways with receivers coach Chansi Stuckey earlier this offseason. Offensive coordinator Gerad Parker is working with the receivers during bowl prep.

Notre Dame will learn its bowl destination on Sunday afternoon.
