Notre Dame added a big piece to its 2024 recruiting class on Sunday morning.
The Fighting Irish picked up a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Peter Jones.
Here’s his announcement:
“Notre Dame is where I would fit in best and I can not wait to call it home,” Jones wrote in-part. “I can’t wait to get to work and be apart of this incredible community.”
Jones is an elite offensive line prospect in his class. He’s the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings
. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of Pennsylvania.
Jones’ commitment is not a total surprise — Notre Dame jumped into the lead in his recruitment this week. He originally picked up a Notre Dame offer back in the spring. He also had offers from programs like Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Michigan.
Notre Dame is now up to 6 commitments in the class of 2024. Its class is ranked No. 1 overall nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings
. Notre Dame also holds the top spot in the 2023 rankings.
