Notre Dame picked up a commitment from a key transfer target on Friday afternoon.

Former Oklahoma State safety Thomas Harper is joining Notre Dame. Harper played in Stillwater for 4 seasons and has been a consistent contributor throughout his career.

Here’s Harper’s announcement:

Harper has racked up 93 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and 6 pass deflections over the course of his college career. He made 30 tackles in just 7 games with the Cowboys during the 2022 season.

Harper joins a Notre Dame secondary that needs to replace experience at safety. With Brandon Joseph headed to the NFL, the Irish needed to find a potential starter at that position for 2023.

This is Notre Dame’s second transfer addition in as many days. The Irish added a commitment from quarterback Sam Hartman on Thursday. Overall, Notre Dame has 3 transfer commits so far in this cycle, with more expected to be on the way.

Harper has 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Notre Dame finished the 2022 season by winning 9 of its last 11 games.
