Notre Dame is off to a tough start this season under coach Marcus Freeman, but 4-star linebacker Drayk Bowen isn’t wavering.

Bowen, who has been committed to Notre Dame since last November, was in South Bend over the weekend for the Stanford game. He said the visit went well and indicated that Notre Dame’s current struggles aren’t going to have an impact on his recruitment.

“I love Coach (Marcus) Freeman and Notre Dame,” he told IrishBreakdown’s Ryan Roberts. “I know the fans get worked up about the wins and losses, and deservedly so , but I believe we are just getting started. There has been a lot of adversity with the team with injuries and other things. I love the class we have and the guys on campus. We are ready to work.”

That’s excellent news for Notre Dame, as Bowen is one of the top commitments in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class. He’s ranked as the No. 90 overall player and the No. 7 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s Notre Dame’s top-committed linebacker and the No. 5 overall player, per the rankings. He’s one of five Notre Dame commitments currently ranked in the top 100 of the Composite.

Overall, Notre Dame is still recruiting at an elite level. The Irish have 23 commitments in the class of 2023. The group ranks No. 3 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The Early Signing Period begins in December.
