Notre Dame learns NCAA regional destination, but misses out on hosting
Notre Dame is headed to Statesboro for its NCAA Tournament regional this weekend.
The Fighting Irish will be in a group with Georgia Southern, Texas Tech and UNC Greensboro.

Georgia Southern is the No. 16 seed, which presumably means Notre Dame just missed out on hosting a regional. The Fighting Irish are the No. 2 seed in the region and had a strong case to be a host this weekend.
Notre Dame went 35-14 this season and 16-11 in a very tough ACC slate. It fell to eventual champions North Carolina in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.
Perhaps the reason Notre Dame isn’t hosting is the same reason why NC State was left out of the Field of 64 altogether — lack of ACC representation on the selection committee. Florida State coach Mike Martin Jr. sounded off on the committee on Monday afternoon.
Notre Dame will open the regional vs. No. 3-seeded Texas Tech on Friday at 2 p.m. ET.
