Notre Dame lost a big piece of its 2023 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon.

4-star running back Dylan Edwards announced his decommitment. The decision comes just a couple days after Edwards was offered by Deion Sanders and Colorado.

Here’s Edwards’ decommitment:

Edwards’ next program will be the third team he has committed to during his recruitment. He initially committed to Kansas State but decommitted after receiving a Notre Dame offer earlier this year.

He is the No. 192 overall player in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the No. 10 running back in the country.

Edwards is a big loss for Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish have other options at running back in the class of 2023. 4-star running back Jayden Limar and 4-star athlete Jeremiyah Love remain committed to Notre Dame.

His decommitment did not hurt Notre Dame’s overall rank nationally. The Fighting Irish are still ranked No. 3 overall, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. They have 26 commitments in this class.

The Early Signing Period begins on Dec. 21.
