Notre Dame was impressive in its 45-32 win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill this weekend.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit noted the effort and ranked the Fighting Irish as his No. 4 top-performing team of the week. Kansas State, Texas Tech and Middle Tennessee were ranked above Notre Dame. Minnesota rounds out the top 5.

Here’s Herbstreit’s full list:

Notre Dame was an underdog against the Tar Heels on Saturday, but left little doubt as to who the better team was. The Irish controlled the game on both sides of the ball, limiting UNC’s offense to just 20 points through 3 quarters.

Notre Dame’s offense also had its best game of the season so far. Drew Pyne led the group to its first 500+ yard performance of the season. Audric Estime rushed for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Notre Dame is now 2-2 on the season and appears to be back on track after suffering that early-season loss to BYU in Week 2. However, the Fighting Irish will have another tough test in Week 6 as they take on BYU.
