Notre Dame makes the cut for 4-star EDGE from Texas

Notre Dame is in the final 10 for one of the best pass rushers in the state of Texas.

The Fighting Irish made the cut for 4-star EDGE Loghan Thomas, who announced his final group of teams on Tuesday afternoon. He’s also still considering Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Arizona, USC, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Colorado.

Here’s his announcement:

Thomas is the No. 216 overall player and the No. 17 EDGE in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He hails from Katy, Texas, which is near the Houston area. He attends Paetow High School and is listed at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds.

Notre Dame has had success recruiting in the Lone Star state in recent cycles. In the class of 2023, the Irish signed 4 players from Texas — more than any other state.

Notre Dame already has 8 commitments in the class of 2024, including 1 from Texas (4-star CB Leonard Moore). Overall, the group ranks No. 3 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.

There is no timetable for Thomas’ commitment. Here are some highlights from his junior season:
